Wednesday 7/16 – Key Largo Day 3
**Okay, so as you can tell I kind of gave up on this blog, like, two days after we got back, but I am going to finish it now. I don’t expect that anyone is checking it anymore or would be interested in reading this, but I just want to finish it for our own records. Part of this entry I wrote last year and never posted, but the rest of this will probably read more like a list of events rather than a descriptive blog. So, sorry if it’s a bit boring after the first paragraph!**
On Wednesday morning we got up, ate some continental breakfast at the hotel, slathered on some sunscreen, and headed for John Pennekamp State Park. We went into the ticket office and bought our tickets for the glass bottom boat. Since we had some time to kill, we decided to lie out on the beach and catch some rays. We boarded the glass bottom boat and had a great time checking out the mangroves, the birds, the reef, and of course, the pretty fish. Erin took some Dramamine, which made her a bit sleepy when we were checking out the fish, but Tom paid close attention and is proud to know what a Sergeant Major fish looks like.
-Lunch at Wendy’s
-Sunset Casino cruise – had to take a small boat from the marina out to a larger cruise ship which had a casino inside. We lost some money and spent time on the top deck enjoying drinks and the sunset. Our best view of the sunset was during the ride back to the marina on the smaller boat.
-We ordered Hawaiian pizza to our hotel room for a late dinner – yum!
-We tried to check out the hot tub, but it was kind of gross and had large dead bugs floating in it, so not much more than our toes made it in.
